Transferring a number

Do not cancel your current service

Keep your current phone service active until your transfer completes.

A disconnected number cannot be transferred. If you cancel early, the transfer fails and you may lose the number permanently.

Your old provider keeps billing you until the transfer finishes. That's normal and it's the price of not losing your number. Cancel the day after it goes live, not before.
