These terms cover the Slingshot business phone service. They are written to be read, because a service that promises no surprises should not hide them in a document nobody opens.
The short version: you pay monthly, you can leave whenever you like, the number is yours to take with you, and we ask you not to use the service in the ways listed in our Acceptable Use Policy. The detail below controls if anything conflicts.

1. Who you are contracting with
The Slingshot service is provided by dgNetrix Communications Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, operating as Slingshot Telecom ("Slingshot", "we", "us"). When you sign a number transfer authorisation, dgNetrix Communications is the carrier named on it.
These terms form an agreement between us and the business or person who opens the account ("you"). If you are opening an account for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Service area. Slingshot is offered in the United States and Canada only. We do not currently provide service, numbers or emergency calling anywhere else.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens on your account, including anything done by the people you add to it. Keep passwords and device credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly at support@slingshot.tel if you think someone has gained access they should not have.
We verify your email address before your line becomes fully usable, because the address is not just a login — it is where voicemail, transfer updates and billing notices are delivered. An account whose email is never confirmed may have its number released back to the available pool.
You must be a business or an adult acting for one. You must give us accurate information and keep it current, particularly your emergency service address (see section 8).
3. The free trial
New accounts start with a 7-day free trial. We do not ask for a card to begin it.
The trial runs the full Pro feature set with three exceptions: you cannot add additional numbers, you cannot transfer an existing number in, and outbound calling is capped at 100 pooled minutes. The number you are given during the trial is a real, working telephone number, not a simulation.
If you do not activate before the trial ends, the account stops working and the number is held for a period before being released. We may end or shorten a trial at any time if we believe it is being used to abuse the service, and we may limit how many trials a single business, person, payment method or network may open.
4. Plans, add-ons and changes
Slingshot is sold per person, per month. Current plans and prices are published on our website and form part of these terms.
Your plan is determined by what you use, not by what you choose at signup. As you configure the account, the panel shows the plan your configuration would fall on. Crossing a threshold — a fourth person, a second number, a desk phone, a multi-level call menu — moves you to the higher plan, and we tell you at the moment it happens and let you undo it. The plan is fixed at activation and recalculated when you make qualifying changes afterwards.
Add-ons — additional numbers, toll-free numbers, cloud recording, international dialling — are priced separately and listed on the pricing page. Add-ons are never included in a plan price.
We may change prices. If we change the price of something you are already paying for, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it takes effect, and you are free to cancel before it does.
5. Billing and payment
- Nothing is charged until you activate. Activating charges your first month immediately.
- That activation date becomes your renewal date each month afterwards.
- Metered charges — per-minute calling on Starter, minutes beyond an included allowance, international destinations — are billed in arrears on your next invoice.
- Prices are exclusive of taxes and of regulatory fees and surcharges, which we collect where we are required to.
- If a payment fails we will retry and notify you. Service may be suspended if an invoice remains unpaid after 14 days.
Changes take effect on your next billing cycle. If you add people, numbers or add-ons partway through a month, we do not prorate and we do not charge you immediately. The change appears on your next invoice and bills from that date forward.
6. Cancelling
There is no term, no minimum period, and no early-termination fee, because there is no term to terminate. You may cancel at any time by telling us at support@slingshot.tel.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not refund partial months. We will not require a phone call, a notice period, or a retention conversation.
Before you cancel, deal with your numbers. Cancelling ends the service and starts the clock on releasing your numbers. If you want to keep a number, arrange the transfer out first — see section 7.
7. Your phone numbers
Bringing a number in. Transferring an existing number to Slingshot is free on every plan. You authorise the transfer by signing an authorisation in the panel, and we file it with your current provider. You must have the authority to move the number, and the details you give us must match your current provider's records or the transfer will be rejected.
Taking a number out. If you leave, you may take your number with you. Ask us and we will release it to your new provider and cooperate with their request. We will not hold a number hostage to an unpaid balance beyond what the law permits, and we will not charge you to leave.
Numbers you remove. A number removed from your account is held in a recoverable state for 90 days before it returns to the carrier's pool. During that window you can ask us to restore it. After it, it is gone.
Numbers are assigned to you for use with the service. Except for your right to transfer a number out, you do not own the numbering resources themselves — no carrier's customer does.
8. Emergency calling (911)
Slingshot's 911 service is not the same as traditional telephone 911. Read this section and make sure everyone on your account has read it too.
It will not work without power and internet. Your calls travel over your internet connection. If the power fails, your internet drops, your device is switched off, or your app has lost its connection, you will not be able to reach 911 through Slingshot. There is no battery backup and no dial tone independent of your network.
We send help to your registered address, not to where you are. Emergency services are routed using the dispatchable address recorded on your account. If you call from anywhere else, responders may be sent to the wrong location. If you move, or take the line to another site, update the address in the panel before you need it.
A callback may not reach you directly. If an emergency operator calls back on a number that is shared or routed through a menu, the call may not land on the person who dialled.
Keep an alternative. We recommend every location has another way to reach emergency services, such as a mobile phone.
You must give us a valid dispatchable address for each number capable of emergency calling, keep it accurate, and update it whenever the service location changes. We collect this at activation. Providing an incorrect address may delay or misdirect an emergency response.
Emergency calling may be limited or unavailable during a free trial, before an address has been registered. Where it is limited, we will tell you in the panel.
Service may be suspended, including emergency calling, if your account is suspended for non-payment or for a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
You agree to inform every person who uses the service on your account of these limitations, and to affix any warning labels we supply to devices where that is appropriate. We provide labels on request.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, neither we nor our underlying carriers are liable for any claim arising from an inability to reach emergency services, a delay in reaching them, or a response directed to an incorrect address.
9. Call recording
Slingshot can record calls in two ways: on the device itself, available on every plan, and in the cloud, available as a Pro add-on.
Whether you may lawfully record a call is your responsibility, not ours. Consent requirements differ by state and province — some require only one party to consent, others require everyone on the call. You are responsible for obtaining whatever consent applies to you, for announcing recording where required, and for how you store and use what you record.
Cloud recordings are retained according to your plan and deleted automatically when that period ends. On-device recordings are stored on the device, are not held by us, and are not recoverable by us if the device is lost.
10. Acceptable use
Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms and describes what the service may not be used for. It exists mainly to protect unmetered calling: our plans are priced for businesses making business calls, and the AUP names the patterns that are something else.
11. Service availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Slingshot depends on your internet connection, your devices, and third-party carrier networks, and we do not control any of those.
No service level agreement applies unless you have a written Enterprise agreement that includes one. We may perform maintenance, and will try to give notice of anything planned that we expect to be disruptive.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or limit an account, immediately and without notice, where we reasonably believe it is compromised, is generating fraudulent traffic, is breaching the Acceptable Use Policy, or presents a risk to our network, our carriers or other customers. Automated protections may suspend an account on unusual traffic patterns before a human reviews it.
We will tell you when we do this, and restore service promptly if the issue is resolved or the suspension was a mistake.
We may terminate an account for a material breach that is not fixed within 10 days of notice, or immediately for unlawful use. You may terminate at any time under section 6.
13. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, conditions and representations of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, quality, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that the service will be available at any particular time, that calls will connect or complete, that voicemail, transcripts, recordings or messages will be delivered, retained or accurate, or that the service will be secure against every form of unauthorised access.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the service in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or the cost of substitute services, even if we have been advised such damages were possible and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
These limits apply equally to our directors, officers, employees, agents, suppliers and underlying carriers, and they survive termination of your account.
You will indemnify us against claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from your use of the service, from content you transmit or record, from your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, and from your failure to obtain any consent the law requires of you.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that applicable consumer protection legislation does not permit to be restricted. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent necessary.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. Every version carries a version number and effective date, and we keep prior versions available on request.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of laws rules. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
Where mandatory consumer protection law in your own jurisdiction gives you rights that cannot be displaced by agreement, nothing here removes them.
