Desk phones and other SIP devices
Desk phones work on Pro and above. Bring any SIP phone you already own. There is no approved-model list.
Any SIP phone you already own
Pro gives you the SIP sign-in details for each extension, so any SIP-compatible desk phone can be pointed at Slingshot. If it speaks SIP, it connects. This is how an office or a church moving from another provider keeps the handsets already on the desks instead of replacing them.
It is also why desk phones sit on Pro rather than Starter. The mobile app provisions by scanning a code and never shows you a password; handing out a SIP username and password is a different thing, so it lives behind Pro.
It is not only phones
The same sign-in details work for anything that speaks SIP. Conference units for a boardroom. Door entry intercoms, so the buzzer at a locked door rings your phones and whoever picks up can talk to the visitor and let them in. Slingshot's part is ringing the right people; the door release itself is handled by the intercom, usually by pressing a digit during the call.
Want to buy a phone from us? Not yet. We are building toward handsets we ship already configured, so a phone works the moment it is plugged in. Until that ships, buying a phone through us is a conversation rather than a button, and you do not need it either way: buy a SIP phone anywhere, or keep the one on your desk.
