Slingshot

Slingshot vs Dialpad

A Dialpad alternative. The line first, month to month.

Dialpad is an AI platform for calls, messages, meetings and support. Slingshot is a business line for small teams, at the same price whether or not you commit for a year. Here is how they compare, with Dialpad's prices as they publish them.

The short version

One is an AI platform. One is the business line.

Pick Slingshot to pay monthly without paying more

Dialpad's headline price is for a year paid up front. Month to month, its Standard plan costs nearly twice as much per person. Slingshot is one price either way, with nothing to commit to.

Pick Dialpad if you want AI on every call today

Dialpad transcribes and summarises calls on every plan, and its departments can route by longest idle or round robin. AI on Slingshot is still coming, and our departments ring everyone at once.

Pick Slingshot if you want the line without the platform

Dialpad is building one platform for calls, messages, meetings and AI support agents. Slingshot is the business line on its own: a greeting, departments, voicemail in your inbox, and a phone company you can call.

Who you would be switching to

The line first. The AI when it helps.

Dialpad has bet the company on AI, and its plans show it: transcripts, summaries and coaching come with every seat. For a sales or support team that lives on the phone all day, that is real value.

The phone is where a customer decides whether to trust you.

Most small businesses need something simpler first. The call reaches the right person, or a greeting that knows where to send it, and the bill is the same every month whether or not you sign for a year. Slingshot starts there. AI that answers calls is coming, and it will sit on a line that already works.

Dialpad wins a lot of the rows in the table above, and every one of them is marked. If you will commit to a year and want AI today, it is a strong choice, and we will tell you so if you call.

Slingshot is built and run by dgNetrix Communications, a phone company since 2006, by people who have been in telecom since 1998. We know what the contract, the install and the paperwork cost, which is how we know none of it needs to be in your way.

Switching

Moving from Dialpad.

Can I bring my Dialpad number?

Yes, free on every plan. Check your Dialpad terms first: moving a number does not by itself cancel a plan you paid for a year in advance. Then start the transfer from your Slingshot dashboard and keep Dialpad running until the number arrives.

Do Slingshot departments route like Dialpad's?

Not the same way yet. Slingshot departments ring everyone in them at once, and whoever is free picks up. Dialpad also offers longest idle, round robin and fixed order. If your team depends on those, Dialpad does it today.

When does Slingshot get AI?

AI that answers calls is coming, and we will publish the details on the day it ships rather than before. Today every voicemail arrives in your inbox transcribed. If you need transcripts and summaries of every live call right now, Dialpad has them on every plan.

Is Slingshot cheaper than Dialpad?

Month to month, yes, by a wide margin: compare the five-person row above. If you will commit to a year, Dialpad Standard costs the same per person in the US as Slingshot Pro and includes more, so it comes down to whether the commitment and the extra features are worth it to you.

Be the business that picks up.

A real business number, on the phone already in your pocket, in the next few minutes.
